Liu Yang and Qingjun Huang
About Us
HYARTSTUDIO is founded by artist couple Liu Yang and Qingjun Huang, H and Y each represents the first letter of their last names.
They both were born in China, moved to the USA in 2022, currently are living in Peoria Illinois. Huang is internationally well-known for his personal photography project "Family Stuff", it has been started from 2003 and still on-going, this project was featured by BBC four times, NYtimes, Bloomberg, Wired, Harvard Business Review, ChinaDaily, NatGeo, Guardian...among many others.
Huang and Yang started experimental photography practices together from 2015, by that time, Huang did a life-size maternity photogram of his wife. This inspired her to begin the journey of dark room creation. They created many large scale photograms together from 2017 to 2019.
From 2019, Yang started to create series independently, DREAM, DREAM INCEPTION, ANOTHER PLANET are the dream-trilogy, the media is photography, but the images were created without camera, and all the artworks are unique pieces. Yang is fascinated by space exploration, many of the works are about cosmos. From 2024 she is working on Music Series.
